Climbing you all cry? Yep, climbing we reply!
As much as we specialise in kitting out users with the very best in affordable home grown neoprene we also acknowledge not everyone loves dipping themselves in brine. Some people prefer heights to watery depths, whereas as others enjoy the adrenaline both environments offer – NCW’s esteemed boss man Mark Graham being a case in point. As a previous member of the HM Coastguard Cliff Search and Rescue Team he’s been known to dangle off a ledge while attending the rescue of all manner of distressed animals and humans. Although he reluctantly retried from this line of work NCW’s range of applicable bags is the brand’s legacy for this kind of activity.
Check out our climbing specific bag that was designed in collaboration with Jakub Arslanowow who used NCW products during his ascent of the notorious Old Man of Hoy. For those not acquainted; Orkney’s Old Man of Hoy is one of the UK’s most impressive coastal stacks. It’s also extremely challenging to ascend. Not only is it 137m (449ft) high, those facing the challenge will battle serious winds buffeting the stack almost constantly (this is the Orkneys after all), huge waves crashing into its base and should you fall the sea’s depth quickly drops away to 200ft. Like we said: not for the faint hearted. So if you fancy getting involved in some climbing malarkey this summer then you’ll need the right gear for the job. Now don’t get us wrong, we’re not suggesting we’re a hardcore climbing retailer, but some of our products are perfect for those who like a dangle.
