No matter how hard you want it sometimes being stuck due to work or family or commitments means you simply can’t indulge in the hobbies you love. This can be frustrating at best and ware down on your mental well being at worst. And yet, there are plenty of things you can do to keep moving – don’t stop moving as the saying goes!
Aiming to wear yourself out physically, even if you’re not too far away from humble abodes, is good life practise. If you’re (physically) worn out then chances are you’ll have been active and a good night’s sleep is on the cards. And by the way we’re saying worn out not completely fatigued! OK, this isn’t always going to be the case but at least with that thought in mind we can aim and hopefully hit the target. Here are a few ways you can increase your movements, readying yourself for the that next bout of outdoor adventure proper.
- Walk/cycle to the office.
- Stand, don’t sit, when working at your laptop/computer.
- Stroll for your lunch.
- Do a few stairway repetitions.
- Spend time with your kids, actively.
- Run (literally) errands.
- Take an evening walk/run/cycle.
- Walk to the shops.
- If a window of opportunity opens, outside your normal routine, for hobby indulgence then jump on it.
