Surfing during autumn and winter can be blissful. Those crisp, sunny mornings, with a touch of frost on the ground. Corduroy lines pulse in from the deep. Brushed lightly by slight offshore winds. It’s chilly but the sun’s off season glow and surf stoke will warm the cockles. Cue sound of vinyl being ripped off the record player.
OK, we know it can be like this but more often than not it’s howling mad windy, chucking it down with rain and brass monkeys. Yep, there are certainly periods of idyllic winter surfing weather but it’s usually a mixed affair in this neck of the woods. As most will know only too well.
Getting changed for surfing.
In amongst the wild goose chases of trying to score quality winter surf, you’ll be faced with actually getting changed to ride. Standing in car parks freezing your backside off is no fun. So you’ll need the right kit.
Change robes are all the rage currently. Every man and his dog seems to own a dry robe. Other options are the Northcore Beach Bash Pro and Sport models which we have stock of. Both these dry robes are top drawer products, expertly made and super warm.
Don’t be stuck out in the cold when surfing this winter. Get yourself one of these babies and be ready to tackle all Mother Nature can lob at you! More info via the links below.
