Windsurfing summer 2023… With this summer having been a breezy one it’s no surprise that wind heads have been lapping it up. Whilst the general weather hasn’t been much to write home about there’s been plenty of blowy days to get amongst it. As our man in Ireland, Dave shows.
Windsurfing days in the Irish sun.
Windsurf sessions during summer can sometimes be a really fickle affair. The UK and Ireland’s high season isn’t always known for being the best when looking to score proper wind. For sure, there can be sea breezes. But these are often on the lighter side. Many choose to ride foil (see Dave’s windfoiling journey articles here). But every now and then you get a magic weather chart show up.
2023 has been a little different with countless sessions recorded as proper! As we said above wind has been in abundance meaning plenty of opportunities to score a session.
The right windsurf and wetsuit kit.
Armed with his trusty Tahe Techno windsurf board (which can be purchased through NCW here) Dave is ready for all weathers and wind scenarios. Also, for those beady eyed, you’ll notice the ever present NCW wetsuit logo. NCW wetsuits are fab for wind sports with a good many of our team riders being wind heads.
If you’re someone who chases blowy days then don’t forget to scope out NCW’s range of quality wetsuits – but at cheaper prices – which you can find here. All NCW wetsuits are manufactured with quality in mind. We keep our overheads low so we can pass on the savings to our customers – whether you’re a windsurf nut or other watersports fan.
