You may have seen the Met Office has issued an unprecedented red weather warning for extreme heat due on Mon 18 and Tues 19, 2022. We’ve been talking about the weather a lot here at NCW. It makes a big difference to a lot of people and their interaction with the outdoors and ocean. Good summer weather is very welcome. But this is something entirely different.
A red weather warning is something not issued often. It comes with the following official snippet –
An exceptional hot spell on Monday and Tuesday leading to widespread impacts on people and infrastructure.
The main area of heat is looking likely around London and other inland areas. Coastal locations will probably fair much better – especially if there’s breeze to temper things. Even here, in Cornwall, there’s an amber warning in place. But it should still be cooler (fingers crossed).
We don’t want to sound like the fun police. But everyone needs to stay safe.
