North Coast Wetsuits prides itself on providing exemplary service, top products, knowledge and – as much as possible – good vibes. But we appreciate it’s not always obvious what makes NCW stand out from other UK surf shops. So we thought we’d highlight some of these USPs in a blog post.
In this article you’ll find the following –
We can fit you out with a premium new North Coast Wetsuits wetsuit (without the premium price tag).
North Coast Wetsuits designs, tests and sells premium wetsuits for all types of watersports. Our roots are in surfing but over the years we’ve diversified into windsurfing, kitesurfing, foiling, paddle boarding, kayaking, wild swimming and more!

Our wetsuits are of superb quality. Time and again we’re given this feedback – take a look for yourself here. They keep riders warm, are robust and durable, are comfortable to wear, and won’t break the bank. Here at North Coast Wetsuits we’ll make sure you end up with the right wetsuit for your application that fits perfectly.
We can fit you out with a ‘good as new’ second hand wetsuit.
North Coast Wetsuits has a great line in used, pre-loved and second-hand wetsuits. More and more we’re becoming known for this, which is perfect for those on a tight budget. Sometimes new products aren’t as wallet-friendly as something used.
Having an onsite seamstress – an expert in wetsuit alterations and repairs – means we can take older wetsuits in and give them an overhaul. Thereby making them as good as new. At the very least they’ll do the job asked by keeping you warm and protected in the water.

We can part exchange your old wetsuit for new.
Another initiative is we’re one of few surf shops doing part exchange. In nearly all cases we can take in your old wetsuit and put the price against new. Thereby easing the burden of cost further.
Your old wetsuit will then go onto our used rack having been given a once-over. Giving someone else the opportunity to squeeze an even longer life out of it. We’re super keen to keep harmful petrochemical neoprene out of landfill. So this helps the environment whilst serving two separate types of NCW customer at the same time.
We can alter any wetsuit or wetsuit accessory to fit your needs.
Body shapes and limb sizes are all different from person to person. The wetsuit industry manufactures products based on the average. Yet we know from experience this doesn’t help the majority. Some North Coast Wetsuits – in standard sizing – may be too small or too big even if measured up according to size charts correctly.
But have no fear as we can usually alter any NCW wetsuit and accessory to ensure the correct fit. We’ve done this on a number of occasions in the past. Which has helped these customers enjoy their surfing. There aren’t many wetsuit brands and providers who can do the same.
North Coast Wetsuits DOESN’T charge high prices.
We’re going to reiterate this point as it can be a deal breaker sometimes with other brands. NCW pricing is fair. We don’t charge the Earth for products. Instead, we’d rather customers get the best deal on the wetsuit, accessory or hardware kit they can.
As surfers ourselves we know how prohibitive equipment costs can be. Whilst we’re certainly in business to make a profit (we’d be lying if we said otherwise) North Coast Wetsuits keeps the everyday surfer in mind with regard to how much our gear is.
We do wetsuit hire!
A new thing for NCW we now hire wetsuits. We also hire out wetsuit accessories such as boots, gloves and hood. This is for adults and kids. So if you’re heading Polzeath way then you can reserve your gear so it’s ready and waiting for you when you get here.
The North Coast Wetsuits hire fleet is the same premium NCW brand suits that you’d purchase new. We’re not cutting corners! And we’ll make sure you get a wetty that fits properly and is suitable for the time of year. Plus, we refund the cost of hire against the suit if you choose to buy it at the end of the period.
It’s not just wetsuits – we also deal with hardware.
NCW is known for its wetsuits. But in the last few years, we’ve diversified our product range to include hardware. Surfboards (softops), stand up paddle boards, paddles, windsurf kit, surf skateboards and accessories, foil gear, kayaks and more.

Some of this isn’t available at The Rubber Shack. So if you’re heading down you’d need to order first before picking up. Or, alternatively, have your chosen kit delivered after ordering online. We deal with some of the industry’s best brands and suppliers. Hardware isn’t just an ad hoc ad on range for NCW. Hit up the website for more – www.northcoastwetsuits.co.uk/shop/
Customer service, customer service, customer service!
NCW is proud of its customer service track record. Again, our Google reviews speak for themselves. With every customer – whether online or in the flesh – going that extra mile to ensure they get the right product is important to us.
We love what we do and enjoy passing on information. Which in turn leads to a better experience – during and after when in the ocean. And if you have any post-purchase feedback we’re always on hand to help out and resolve any situation promptly and professionally.
Knowledge is power.
Tying in with our point about being helpful we’re always happy to impart our knowledge. Whether that be about the local area here in St. Endellion (close to Polzeath), Cornwall at large, surfing specifically, watersports in general or anything else you may have questions about. If we can’t answer straight away we’ll endeavour to find someone who can.
NCW’s website is chock full of info. If you search our website for the watersport topic you have in mind chances are there’ll be something you’ll come across. If not, get in touch. We’re only too happy to have a natter.
Keeping it real – a bona fide Cornish surf shop and brand.
You won’t find any BS with North Coast Wetsuits. One thing we’re true to is keeping it real. There are no airs and graces. After all, The Rubber Shack (NCW’s showroom) is based in a farmyard! The smell of the countryside permeates…
Mark and the staff are all approachable and down-to-earth people. We’ve been around the block a few times, seen plenty and come away from it with a few battle scars. But this only adds to our ‘story’ and the experiences we can share.
Summing up.
NCW’s is ultimately to help everyone get out on the water and having fun. As we’ve already said we’re certainly a business. But we’re authentic, credible and understand the trials and tribulations of being water babies in a day and age where there are so many stresses and strains placed on recreational time.
