Bill Morris
A recent update from Bill
“I was fortunate enough to win the old mal division at the crescent head malibu classic run over 4 days this May, 2019. It’s such a big comp it attracts plenty of quality surfers from near and afar in all divisions. I always try really hard to do well at this comp have been competing there for more than 25 years now so a lot of history and reputation there for me.”
Bill says “I have been a keen surfer all my life, have been fortunate to see all board transitions and progressions since the mid 60s, I started surfing & competiting on long boards since joining a long board club in 1991, competing at local, State & National levels, and plenty of opportunities to learn a lot about myself with the highs and lows of competition. I have held most positions within clubs including president for many years.
Bill surprises Mark turning up at the rubber shack build having travelled from Australia
I pride myself on being professional, as a surfer and a Safety Trainer for NSW Mines Rescue Service, I am aware of my obligations to my sponsors, enjoy coaching young surfers, and know how fortunate I am to be part of the surfing community, never a win at all costs approach, sportsmanship is something I try and promote always, and would rather try and promote more an attitude of “What can I do for someone else today”. A wonderful world class surfer, master craftsman & mentor to me, the great Frank Latta, taught me many things, among them “Think like a winner” and” Preparation” is the key to achieving your goals.”
Bill has a lot of comps under his belt ! here’s his results in the 21st Century….
